What is Sodium Chlorite Flake?
Sodium Chlorite flake (NaClO2) is a chemical compound and at 80% technical grade it is the highest concentration available for sodium chlorite based on the means of manufacturing. In its original form sodium chlorite starts off as flakes, though it is often grounded up as sold as sodium chlorite powder.
The core materials used to make sodium chlorite are chlorine dioxide, sodium hydroxide, and hydrogen peroxide.
Sodium chlorite flake is used to generate chlorine dioxide for the bleaching of textiles and as a cleaning supplement.
The FDA has not approved sodium chlorite to be safe for human consumption even when diluted in water.
